Meet the Golf Club Staff

Steven Price
General Manager

Steven Price was born in Fort Worth, Texas. At the age of 9 he moved to London, England where he went to school and also received a degree in hospitality management from the London School of Business. In 1979 he moved to Toronto, Canada where he spent the next 6 years managing 2 high-volume restaurants. In 1985 moved to Hollywood, Florida and shifted his career into golf club management. In 1989, he opened his own restaurant in Ft Lauderdale and ran it successfully for 2 years. In 1991 he started his career with WCI Communities at their flagship property Bay Colony Golf Club in Naples, Florida. In September 2005 he accepted the position as General Manager with WCI at Lost Key Golf Club.


Melissa Mackey
Membership & Special Events Director

Melissa Mackey, born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and Special Events from Florida State University.  Throughout her time at FSU she worked in the field of Advertising and Public Relations for 6 years.  In January 2006 Melissa joined WCI Communities and is now the Membership and Special Events Director at Lost Key Golf Club.
 

 

 

John McKernan
Club Manager

John McKernan was born and raised in Syracuse, New York where he graduated from Cicero-North Syracuse High School. John has been working in the hospitality industry since 1989 and has extensive experience ranging from hotel operations with Embassy Suites to privately owned restaurant operations. John moved to the Pensacola area in 1999 and joined the WCI team in 2004.  

 

 

Michael Howard
Head Golf Professional

Born and raised in northern Indiana, Michael Howard joined the United States Marine Corps in 1975 and retired in 2002. Michael received training in Avionics Repair and later completed advance training for Electronic Engineer’s course. He supervised numerous Marine Fighter Squadrons Avionics divisions that encompassed radar, instrument, navigation and communication systems. From 1995 to 1998 he served as Senior Marine for Aircraft Avionics Schools at Pensacola Navel Air Station. From 1998 until his retirement he served as Officer in Charge Navel Technical Data and Engineering Services, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Michael joined Lost Key Golf Club in July 2002 and later WCI in November 2003. He enrolled in PGA February 2004 and completed January 2007. He now serves as Head Golf Professional at Lost Key Golf Club.


Thien Chu
Executive Chef

Thien Thanh Chu, Executive Chef, was born in Vung Tau, South Viet Nam. At the age 16 he moved to Pensacola, Florida.  As a teenager he trained at the Aroma of Mandarin, a fine dining Chinese restaurant. In 1999 he enrolled in the Florida Culinary Institute. After receiving a degree in Culinary and Food and Beverage Management, he worked as an Executive Sous Chef at the Fountain Golf and Country Club in West Palm Beach. Thien is a member of the American Chef’s Association and served as a Board of Director and a Scholarship Chair from 2003-2005. In February 2006 he joined WCI Communities as the Sous Chef at Lost Key Golf Club. Shortly after this he was promoted to Executive Chef.


Roger Willoughby
First Assistant Golf Professional

Roger Willoughby was born in Montgomery, Alabama and spent most of his life in Albertville, Alabama.  For 26 years he owned and operated a real estate services and security companies.  Roger served on the Board of Directors for Albertville Golf and Country Club, while also overseeing the daily operations and finances. He spent several years playing at the state level in the Alabama Golf Association and turned professional in 2003.  Entering the PGA PGM he accepted a position at Tiger Point Golf and Country Club in Gulf Breeze, Florida as the Assistant Professional and Instructor.  In 2006, he accepted a position as First Assistant Golf Professional with WCI at Lost Key Golf Club.
